Accelerating radioactive iodine Accelerating radioactive iodine
The amounts of radioactive iodine-129 in environmental samples have been determined by accelerator mass spectrometry. The data for Japanese soil provide background soil levels at remote locations and the levels in the Japan Sea show that this body of water is a reservoir for emissions from nuclear reprocessing plants.
