The Journal of Chemometrics is pleased to announce that the 2013 Kowalski Prize in Chemometrics has been awarded to: Jeff Fortuna, Alyaa H. Elzibak, Zhaoyang Fan, John F. MacGregor and Michael D. Noseworthy for their paper "Liver functional magnetic resonance imaging analysis using a latent variables approach”.

This paper is free to view on Wiley Online Library until January 31, 2014.

The Kowalski Prize is given each year, and alternates between the "best theoretical paper" and "best applied paper" published in the Journal of Chemometrics. This year was the turn of the "best applied paper" published in 2011 and 2012.

The award honours the many contributions of the former Editor-in-Chief and Founding Editor of the Journal, Bruce Kowalski.

Worth $1000, the Kowalski Prize will be presented to the winners early in 2014.
