Microsaic Systems plc, the high technology company developing the next generation of miniaturised mass spectrometry (MS) instruments, is pleased to announce that its product range is now compatible with Clarity Chromatography Software, the advanced Chromatography Data Station developed by Data Apex.

The Clarity software interface includes control modules for data acquisition, processing and operation for more than 500 liquid and gas chromatography platforms. With the addition of a control module for Microsaic’s 4000 MiD miniaturised mass detector and MiDas compact interface module, Clarity now provides a single-point control solution that will enable users to increase workflow efficiency by incorporating simple-to-use mass detection.

Moreover, the software provides a variety of tools supporting the GlP practices and complies with the requirements of the 21 CFR part 11 directives of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Microsaic 4000 MiD

Offering the smallest footprint in the market, the 4000 MiD is a fully integrated, versatile, miniature mass spectrometry system designed for bench chemists.

The 4000 MiD is the only mass spectrometer to contain everything in one box, including PC and all pumps. The core technologies are chip-scale, ‘plug and play’ versions of traditional mass spectrometry components which can be interchanged rapidly by the user. Its easy integration, low operating cost and small footprint make the 4000 MiD deployable in a wide range of applications where mass spectrometry has not been able to reach – until now.


The MiDas compact interface unit allows for the simple deployment of mass detection in a large variety of real-time on line and off line applications.

The MiDas is an integrated interface module and software package allowing automated sampling, dilution and injection for direct MS analysis at your lab bench or fume hood.

Applications range from analysing the compositions of unknown liquids in a beaker to reaction monitoring from a batch, flow reactor to semi-prep LC.

MiDas coupled with the Microsaic 4000 MiD mass detector gives the bench chemist the benefits of analytical chemistry where it’s needed.
