April 30, 2013. Helsinki, Finland.

Lasersec Systems Corporation has released the LEA, the world’s first handheld elemental analyzer based on LIBS (Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy). The devices offer many advantages in applications currently using XRF and OES. These include the ability to identify ALL elements, analysis of both conducting and non-conducting samples, no sample preparation, no consumables or cleaning between tests, and the lack of any requirements for operator certification. Markets served include RoHS/REACH compliance, forensics, explosive materials ID, mineral exploration, pharmaceutical manufacturing, research, and more.
