Top pharma places to work

The US company Regeneron Pharmaceuticals tops this year's Science Careers Top Employers Survey, which identifies those life science companies considered to be the top employers in the industry. Based on the views of over 4,000 scientists, the survey found that 'innovative leader' was the most powerful factor driving their choice of best company, followed by 'treats employees with respect', 'is socially responsible', 'has loyal employees', 'does important, quality research' and 'makes changes needed'.

The top 10 companies, together with the country where their main headquarters are located, are:

3. Genentech (US)
4. Novo Nordisk (Denmark)
5. Monsanto (US)
6. Millennium: The Takeda Oncology Company (US)
7. Boehringer Ingelheim (Germany)
8. Roche – excluding Genentech (Switzerland)
9. Biogen Idec (US)
10. DuPont (US).
