The scientific publisher Springer has agreed to work with the American Chemical Society's Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) to include thousands of new experimental procedures for chemical reactions in CAS databases. These experimental procedures come from articles in 165 Springer chemistry journals, published from 1985 to the present.
The CAS databases already contain over 62 million single- and multi-step reactions and synthetic preparations, and associated experimental procedures, which were derived from journal articles and patent submissions and can be searched using the SciFinder tool.
'We're delighted that experimental procedures from Springer are more accessible to researchers around the world through SciFinder,' said Berendina van Straalen, head of rights and permissions, special licensing department, at Springer. 'Scientists will now be able to easily identify the relevant Springer articles that will help them in the lab.'
