Douglas Berthiaume, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Waters, has announced his intention to retire within the next 24 months.
The Waters' Board of Directors has appointed a Succession Planning Committee to guide the process of selecting a successor, and plans to engage an executive search firm to consider both internal and external candidates.
During his tenure as CEO, which began in 1994, Berthiaume, 64, has helped Waters achieve a more than 500% increase in revenues to $1.84 billion in 2012. 'We are grateful to Doug Berthiaume for his effective, energetic and enduring leadership of Waters Corporation, and for the strong and stable management team that has been assembled to operate the business globally,' said the Board of Directors.
