The Quest ATR Accessory for mid and far-IR spectroscopy has been announced by Specac Limited. Its innovative optical design is built around all-reflective gold-coated optics and features Specac's Synopti-Focal Array technology with precision-moulded aspheric mirrors. The instrument has a durable monolithic diamond ATR crystal option in its standard configuration for analysing hard, inflexible solids.

The Accessory has four interchangeable crystal pucks including high throughput diamond for the mid-IR range, extended wavelength diamond for the mid and far-IR range, ZnSe for softer materials and Ge for strongly absorbing materials. The pucks are held in place magnetically on the instrument for easy changeover and removing the need for additional alignment. The overall range extends from 10,000 to 40 wavenumbers.
