Winners of IM Publications NIR Poster Prize

IM Publications has awarded its NIR Poster Prizes at the Seventh International Conference on Advanced Vibrational Spectroscopy (ICAVS-7) to Professor Takuma Genkawa from Kobe University and Professor Naoto Kakuta from Tokyo Metropolitan University. Both winners will receive free subscriptions to JNIRS–Journal of Near Infrared Spectroscopy and NIR news.

The poster from Professor Genkawa was entitled "Band Assignment of Water and Liquid Oleic Acid using an Online Near-Infrared/Mid-Infrared Dual-Region Spectrometer and hetero 2DCOS." Professor Kakuta offered "Simultaneous Imaging of Temperature and Water Volume Fraction of Aqueous Solutions Using Near-Infrared Absorption Characteristics of Water."

ICAVS-7 was held in Kobe, Japan during August 2013 and the biennial conference will meet next in Vienna, Austria on July 12-17, 2015 as ICAVS-8.
