A new ebook entitiled Ion Mobility Mass Spectrometry - The Next 5 Years is available for free download. Published by Owlstone Inc. and available under a creative commons licence, the 88-page book contains contributions from leading researchers in the field of ion mobility mass spectrometry who describe how they see the next 5 years developing.
As examples, Alexandre Shvartsburg from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory discusses the most significant contributions to IMS to date and predicts its development over the next 5 years. Gary Eiceman from New Mexico State University gives four predictions for IMS, including its increased use in the clinical area for the diagnosis and treatment of human illnesses by volatile profiling. Glenn Harris from Vanderbilt University describes his use of IMS for post-ionisation separation in mass spectrometry imaging experiments using tissue samples.
