Lab Institute 2013 will take place on 16–18 October 2013 in Arlington, Virginia, US, with the theme of 'It's make or break time: a path forward for labs'.

'Many labs are already experiencing the repercussions of this make-or-break environment,' says Stephanie Murg, managing director of G2 Intelligence, which is organizing the event. 'That’s why this year’s agenda is focused on helping organizations of all sizes navigate the many challenges, while uncovering new opportunities for innovation and growth.'

Keynote speakers at the event will include: David King, chairman and CEO of Laboratory Corporation of America and chairman of the American Clinical Laboratory Association, who will talk about the state of the lab industry; and Alan Wright, chief medical officer at Roche Diagnostics, who will give a talk entitled 'Raising the value of diagnostics in the era of personalized medicine'.
