Blue Stream Laboratories of Cambridge, MA, is sponsoring a workshop entitled "In-Depth Characterization of Recombinant Protein Therapeutics" on the evening of February 25th, 2013. It is aimed at users and providers of contract research and contract manufacturing services and is timed to take place in the evening to follow on from the 2nd Annual MassBio CRO/CMO Symposium. Both meetings will be held in the Boston Newton Marriott.
The workshop will examine the use of mass spectrometry for characterising proteins, peptides, antibiotics and similar compounds that are intended for use as biotherapeutics. Three case studies will be examined:
- Mass spectrometric identification of N- and O- linked glycans on glycoproteins using cutting edge MS methods
- Detailed characterization of PEGylated proteins by mass spectrometry
- Characterization of aggregates and degradants using AUC and other biophysical methods
