Dr. Adrian Taylor: Biography

Within AB SCIEX, Dr. Adrian Michael Taylor is responsible for assessing instrument platform direction to address current and new applications within the forensic toxicology market segment.
Adrian has been with AB SCIEX since 2007 where he started as an application scientist having responsibility for performing instrument demonstrations, running customer sample sets, hosting show-and-tells and giving presentations on the technical aspects of the instruments and the software products.
He has extensive experience developing and demonstrating LC-MS/MS applications for a wide variety of customers, including government agencies, contract research organizations, hospitals, universities and private industry.
Adrian's other positions during his time with AB SCIEX have also included lead customer role on software projects where he has helped in the development of software to meet the needs of LC-MS/MS customers performing routine quantitation and screening analyses.
From January 2005 to May 2007 Adrian undertook a post-doctoral position with Prof. KW Michael Siu at the Centre for Research in Mass Spectrometry, Chemistry Department, York University, Toronto; Canada. He was involved in identifying potential biomarkers to enable both a rapid and accurate diagnosis of Endometrial Carcinoma and successfully designed mass spectrometric workflows around nanoLC-MS/MS analysis to detect and quantify low abundant peptides.
Adrian graduated in October 2004 with a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Jane Thomas-Oates at the University of York, York; UK. His research involved analysis and characterization of Mycobacterium avium capsular glycoproteins, using mass spectrometry and a range of chemical, enzymatic and separation methods.
Adrian also has a M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry and Instrumentation from Loughborough University, Loughbourough; UK, and a B.Sc. in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Sunderland, Sunderland; UK.
