Turbulent Flow Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry in a UK Laboratory: Research into Potential Applications for Clinical Chemistry and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring

Date: May 19, 2015 - 15:00

With advances in fast chromatography techniques, and highly sensitive and selective detection methods such as mass spectrometry, high-throughput bioanalytical methods can now be easily developed. Turbulent flow liquid chromatography was developed in the late 1990s, and combines 'size exclusion' and traditional stationary phase column chemistry to separate macromolecules, such as proteins, from smaller molecules and analytes of interest in biological fluids. In this presentation, two senior scientists from...

Automating mass spectrometry based glycan identification and quantitation using SimGlycan software

Date: May 5, 2015 - 16:00

This webinar provides an introduction to SimGlycan software for high throughput glycan identification and quantitation. We show examples of the use of the software for LC-MS/MS workflows for 2-AB labelled glycans, processing data for quantitative workflows using the recently introduced Thermo Scientific™ Tandem Mass Tag™ Reagents. In an effort toward rapid profiling and identification of glycans, we have developed web based software modules to facilitate construction of custom databases.

Discovery OMICS and Progenesis QI for Food Authenticity Testing

Date: Dec 9, 2014 - 16:00

For years, traders have been passing off a lesser quality rice as the world's finest long-grained, aromatic rice, basmati, in key markets like the US, Canada and the EU. Increased concern regarding the authenticity of basmati rice throughout the world have lead to new developments in Food Authenticity Testing.

How to Streamline Sample Preparation for Equine Drug Screening using LC-MS

Date: Jan 30, 2014 - 16:00

Screening blood samples from race horses for prohibited drugs requires validated methods and instrumentation that maximize sensitivity and selectivity while minimizing sample handling. For this purpose, several methods were developed and validated based on LC-MS utilizing a two-dimensional LC system that automates sample cleanup by TurboFlow™ technology. In this webinar, experiences in transferring and validating methods from a legacy Aria system with TurboFlow methods to the Transcend II system, as well...
