Springer has published a special issue of Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry on the analysis of chemical weapons, a timely act given the recent history of warfare in the Middle East.

A series of papers covers topics such as the analysis of chemical weapons in environmental matrices like water, soil and air as well as biomedical samples like blood, urine, plasma and serum. Many of the procedures featured involve mass spectrometry, some LC/MS but mainly GC/MS.

The papers are available for free download from the publisher's website until 2015.
