Pushing the Boundaries of Protein Identification, Characterization, and Quantitation Using a Novel Orbitrap-Based Tribrid MS Architecture

Date: Oct 1, 2013 - 15:00

Peptide identification rates and protein sequence coverage have historically advanced in line with improvements to the detection limits and spectral acquisition rate of the mass spectrometer. This webinar will demonstrate the advantages of using a novel Orbitrap mass spectrometer to dramatically improve spectral acquisition rates through massive parallelization of the acquisition process to enhance proteome coverage and general experimental throughput.

Advances in Quantitative Proteomics: Parallel Reaction Monitoring Applied to Large-scale Studies

Date: Jun 26, 2013 - 13:00

Quantitative proteomics studies are challenging as high sensitivity and a high degree of selectivity are required to analyze systematically large peptide sets in one single experiment. Quantification of peptides in complex samples can be performed on a quadrupole-orbitrap instrument in MS/MS mode (parallel reaction monitoring, PRM). The high resolving power of this technique dramatically increases the selectivity of the measurements while the trapping capability can be leveraged to boost the sensitivity.

Capturing States of Pluripotency: How Cell Surface Chemoproteomics Facilitates Rapid Immunophenotyping and Sorting of Pluripotent Stem Cells

Date: Feb 28, 2012 - 15:00

Induction of a pluripotent state in somatic cells through nuclear reprogramming has ushered in a new era of regenerative medicine. However, heterogeneity and varied differentiation potentials among induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines challenge our ability to identify and isolate functionally defined cell populations for disease modeling, drug discovery, and patient therapies. Thus, there is an urgent need to develop non-genetic methods for isolating more homogeneous, functionally defined iPSCs.
