Speciation Analysis of Manganese Dissolution in
Li-Ion Batteries

Manganese-based LIBs are environmentally friendly, have a good safety record, and can be produced at a lower cost than other metal-based LIBs; however, they have a shorter lifetime. One reported cause of lifetime loss is the dissolution of manganese from the cathode into the electrolyte during cycling. This presentation will discuss the analysis of cycled anode material and the separation of different degradation products.

Exposure to lead acetate on the skin results in oxidation of protein in the liver that could ultimately cause liver damage, say Taiwanese researchers.

The potential effects of cardiac function on cerebral blood flow in elderly patients were studied by MRI imaging techniques, showing that fractional brain flow is a novel index for adequate brain perfusion as well as cardiovascular disease.

This review offers a snapshot of how proteomic techniques have been applied to farm animals to improve their use as biomedical models.
