Speciation Analysis of Manganese Dissolution in
Li-Ion Batteries

Manganese-based LIBs are environmentally friendly, have a good safety record, and can be produced at a lower cost than other metal-based LIBs; however, they have a shorter lifetime. One reported cause of lifetime loss is the dissolution of manganese from the cathode into the electrolyte during cycling. This presentation will discuss the analysis of cycled anode material and the separation of different degradation products.
